INTRODUCTION
Manifolds are used to control the flow of drilling fluids in a rig. manifolds is
nothing, but combination of gate valves. by adjusting this gate valves we can
adjust the pressure of fluid and also can direct the path of fluid entering and
leaving the manifold.
TYPES OF MANIFOLD
MUD MANIFOLD
Mud manifold is used to control the pressure of the mud coming from the mud pump and also to givepath for the mud to flow smoothly. the mud manifold
consist of two inlet one from mud pump-1 and other from mud pump-2, it has to
outlet also one to the discharge line and other to the kill line. if mud is used
for drilling or tripping action the manifold give path to the outlet to the
discharge line by closing all other valves. if the mud is used for killing of the
well the manifold give path to the outlet of mud manifold to the kill line.

Kill manifold is used to give pressurized or mud with heavy mud weight to the well for killing action of the
H-MANIFOLD
As the name indicates it has a shape ofenglish alphabet h. it is used to give
mud to the well for drilling action and for circulation while tripping in and
tripping out process. it has a single inlet to receive mud from mup pump through
nud manifold. but it has two outlet one for giving mud to the swivel through
stand pipe and other for circulating mud while tripping in and tripping out
process.

CHOKE
MANIFOLD
Choke
manifold is used mainly during shut in process for bleeding high pressure kick
mud coming from the well bore. it consist of one inlet for receiving kick mud
from the choke line. if it the pressure is to high the choke line allows mud to
flow through longest path through the choke manifold by adjusting the gate
valves of the choke manifold. this manifold has more number of gate valves. choke
manifold has two outlet for bleeding out high pressure return mud through
it. the gate valve of choke manifold is of size 2 13/16”.
