Psychometric
chart is
a graph which represents a specific condition of a gas, vapour
system (such as air and water vapour ) which drawn towards temperature (horizontal
scale) and absolute humidity (vertical scale); other characteristics of this
system such as relative humidity, wet bulb temperature, latent heat of vaporization are indicated by lines on the chart.
Dry bulb temperature which is measured by a
thermometer is called dry bulb temperature when the bulb of the thermometer is
kept dry.
Wet bulb temperature which is measured by
thermometer whose bulb is covered with a wet cloth or wick.
Dew point temperature at which moisture
content present in the atmosphere at a particular temperature becomes saturated. Above this particular temperature the moisture will stay in the air (atmosphere).
Specific volume is the volume occupied by
the unit weight of air.
Humidity ratio is the ratio of the water
vapour present the mass of dry air.
Relative humidity is the ratio of actual
amount of moisture present in one unit volume of dry air at a certain
temperature to the amount of moisture needed to saturate it at that temperature
is called relative humidity.
